2018 Call for Papers - Closed
The Conference will be held at the Pullman, Melbourne on the Park on 7 and 8 June and will be of interest to academics and professionals working in the higher education sector, accrediting bodies, Deans Councils, government, industry and students.
Submissions are invited under the following three themes:
Theme 1: Assessment - HESF 1.4.3 ‘Methods of assessment are consistent with the learning outcomes being assessed, are capable of confirming that all specified learning outcomes are achieved and that grades awarded reflect the level of student attainment’ - sub-themes:
1. Authentic assessments (Capstone, Portfolio, WIL)
2. Developing program level assessment (Whole of degree)
3. Cultivating assessment literacy in students (Sustainable assessment)
4. Enhancing assessment policy (Putting Assessment Policy into Practice)
5. Integrating digital tools and technologies for assessment (Online Assessment)
Theme 2: Integrity
We invite scholars to submit topical material on issues associated with the integrity of examinations, including those that are: 1.) invigilated in person, 2.) taken online but are remotely invigilated in real time, and 3.) conducted online and invigilated remotely with offline asynchronous review.

Preference will be given to papers that focus on:
1. Good practice and future-looking next practice
2. Strategies for management of these three types of examinations
3. Inherent and developing issues and risks related to exam integrity
Papers may be related to a wide array of topic areas associated with the three types of exam integrity, such as: ensuring integrity within the development, marking and moderation processes, exploring issues related to secure storage of exam papers, verification of student identity, innovative invigilation methods, and working with third party providers.

The review process is an integral part of the University's quality assurance system’ - sub-themes:

Please note, you must register to attend the conference in order to be a presenter. Presenters receive a 10% discount on the registration rate of $535 for one day, $995 for two days and $1295 for three days, which includes the Learning Leaders in Higher Education Conference on 6 June at the Pullman, Melbourne on the Park.
Duration
You are invited to submit short presentations of up to 10 minutes that will stimulate roundtable discussion. A roundtable session is an opportunity for delegates to engage in a robust discussion about an issue or challenge that the proposer has identified as worthy of further exploration. These sessions will be led by an expert facilitator in the sub-theme area. The discussion may lead to the identification of ways to expose the issue or challenge to a wider audience with a view to addressing the issue or challenge through new collaborations or research. Submissions for roundtable discussion can be on any aspect of the conference themes or sub-themes.
Submission Guidelines
You need to provide the following:
• A 200-word abstract.
• Indicate if you would be willing to host a sub-theme roundtable session as an expert facilitator.
• A short, no more than 150-word, professional biography that includes your name, title and position within your institution. Should your submission be accepted, you will be asked to provide a head and shoulders photo.
• Submissions, including abstract and biography must be provided on this form no later than Tuesday 3 April.
